Serving UT and the Austin Community

Service is one of the four pillars of our organization. Active members of Texas Spirits contribute over 2,000 hours of service each semester! Spirits complete their service hours through weekly events, such as Feed My People, Micah 6, StarKids at Saint Louise House, and many more. We also volunteer in a variety of events and projects each semester, often collaborating with other student organizations to work for great causes.

Philanthropy

Texas Spirits recently voted to focus its fundraising toward one local philanthropy that we raise money and awareness for throughout the year. Saint Louise House is an organization that provides affordable and supportive housing and resources for women and children experiencing homelessness. Their goal is to help as many families develop long-term stability as they can. We are fortunate to get to interact with this Austin nonprofit through an annual Halloween festival and other events that Texas Spirits coordinates.

Mx. Spirit

Mx. Spirit began in the spring of 2014 and has been a success each year! Contestants from different student organizations apply to participate in the competition. We crown a Mx. Spirit, Mx. Philanthropy and Mx. Congeniality. You will not be disappointed with the talented and hilarious contestants from around the UT campus! Please visit our Mx. Spirit page for more information!

bAND JAM

Our largest annual event is Band Jam, a charity concert benefiting the Saint Louise House. Band Jam started in 1995 and has been getting bigger and better every year. Please visit our Band Jam page for more information!
